The HP TouchPad Is an Amazing Deal, No Matter What Your Nerd Friends Tell You!

Starting at €99, the HP Touchpad seems too good to be true. Your nerdy fiends will “educate” you and advise against it…”oh, it’s too good to be true… You” never be able to get software updates…. There won’t be new apps developed for it…. It’s a dead platform and you’ll end up with an expensive paperweight. Don’t buy it.” Bla Bla Bla!!!

The thing is, those geek friends seem to have this unjustified obsession with the future. What a phone or tablet will be like after a few updates and if there’s going to be a flood of apps developed to justify the small fortune they’ve just spent on their “future proof” device! Whatever happend to enjoying something now? There was a time when u got a gadget for what i can do, not what its due to be able to. That’s exactly what the HP Touchpad is. It’s a gadget that is what it is and nothing more or less.
The bottom line is, the €99 Touchpad is an absolute bargain, even if the operating system is forever stuck, frozen in the autumn of 2011 forever. Here’s why…
It is one of the best tablets you can buy, at any price point. It got all the things a tablet should have. Multitasking and notifications, Super integrated messaging, Details like an adjustable keyboard and the “just type” is probably the single handiest aspects of the whole Os. Literally, you just type, and what you’ve typed can be sent via e-mail, set as your Facebook update, a search field for a web search and loads more! it’s a great feature! It’s cheaper than the amazon kindle and coz do everything the kindle can do, plus all the tablet stuff too!!! It’s got a decent Facebook app. You can slap Epicurious on it and use it as a kitchen beater tablet for cooking with (or flip it over and use it as a chopping board if all else fails). It has Beats audio enhancement, impressive compatibility with third-party calendar, messaging, and e-mail services. The browser supports Flash so you get to experience web browsing the way it’s supposed to be, unlike some other manufacturers who give you webpages with broken boxes dotted all over the page! I particularly like the fact that as if supports Flash, Sky player, 4od player and RTE player all work perfectly on it! It does basically everything you’d want a tablet to do, and pretty goddamn well, even if it may never grow a single new feature.

It’s a €99 tablet that performs as well as the €400 or €500 tablets out there and if you’re looking at a €99 unbranded android tablets and thinking it’s a better use of your hard earned cash, forget it!!! I’d take a dead 10″ touchpad over a working €99 cheapo 7″ android tablet any day!

… At least it would make a bigger chopping board! ;)
