Apperantly, details have leaked about the Galaxy S3, the follow-up to the acclaimed Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone.
A screenshot published by Phandroid which was supplied by an anonymous source supposedly featuring specs of the Samsung Galaxy S3 handset.
As you can see above, this slide shows that the Android-powered device will suposadly have a 1.8GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, as well as a 12-megapixel camera!!! This image, thought to have come from Samsung Mobile Solutions, also reveals that the phone will feature a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display. It also suggests that the handset will be thinner than the S2 and feature more tapered edges. The expectation is that the phone will run Google Android’s upcoming operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich which was meant to launch today with the Samsung Nexus Prime smartphone, but Google and Samsung decided to postpone the release as a mark of respect for Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who died last week.
The two firms said in a statement: “We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Job’s passing,”
The new launch date for the Nexus Prime/Ice Cream Sandwich has yet to be announced, but it more than likely take place after Jobs’s funeral on October 19 in California.
