Users of the iPhone 4S have reported problems with the phone’s audio and numerous complaints of voice echoing are littering Apple’s forums.
Dozens of users have posted complaints of an echo when using a wired headset during voice calls, BGR reports. The iPhone 4S has also very recently come under attack from its users because of battery problems. Neither of these come close to “anntennagate”, but it’s an issue nonetheless and if you’ve just shelled out hundreds of euro for your new top-of-the-range mobile, you’ll be understandably peeved.
One user in the forum noted: “When using the Apple hands free headset with the phone during a call, I get an echo problem. It does not occur immediately. It can very from 30 seconds into a call and as far up to 9 mins in before it begins the annoying echo. If I unplug the headset it goes away but will return when I plug the headset back in.”
Further on in the thread users have reported that they are also experiencing issues with the iPhone 4 – once they’ve been updated to iOS 5.
There does seem to be a quick fix though, if you are experiencing this problem, just enable then disable the speakerphone.
