You're better off without it for now, believe me. I'm fromt he North of England and having a nightmare with Siri. I even had to give my Mum a nickname of Mom for it to pick her name up - even though it's set to the English UK. It's fine for the odd command like setting an alarm, but I'm yet to send a text it has typed for me without error.
I constantly try over-annunciating but that doesn't help.
An impression of the queen seems to work okay though, but not sure how much I could cope with that!
I sent a funny text by mistake last night. It was meant to read "Can you believe believe mum and dad thought Shrek was rubbish. They are so sad"
Siri typed "Can you believe Mormon Dad Star Trek was rubbish? They are so all sides"
From experience, only words from the dictionary will be recognised i.e. no names, places, etc.
Another big annoyance is that when you try to text directly from Siri (rather than clicking the microphone button in the Messages keyboard), it cuts you off as soon as you pause to think.
Local business searching is also off for the UK.
All in all, quite a disappointment really. I came from a beloved iPhone 4 with the free Vlingo app which was equally as reliable. Wouldn't recommend the upgrade (unless you're currently on 3gs or non-iphone), Siri feels unfinished and not something that should've been a main selling point for upgrading. The rest of iOS is brilliant, but could have had that anyway with my iPhone 4
